Applies to the Timbre Dock iPhone application and this website. Last updated 17 September 2026.
What the app collects
Timbre Dock does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.
- All songs, samples, cover photos and the application's own diagnostic log are stored only on your iPhone, in the application's own container. The application has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and makes no network connections.
- Microphone access is used only while you record a sample, and the recording is kept on the device.
- Bluetooth access is used only to connect to the Orba 2 over Bluetooth MIDI.
- Photos: cover images are chosen through the system photo picker, which gives the application access only to the images you select.
- Nothing leaves the phone except the song and sound files you explicitly send to your own instrument over the USB or Bluetooth connection.
Independence and trademarks
Timbre Dock is an independent application developed by Aron Peto. It is not made by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Artiphon Inc.
“Artiphon” and “Orba” are trademarks of Artiphon Inc. They appear in this application and its materials solely to identify the hardware the application is designed to work with. No Artiphon logo, wordmark artwork, or brand imagery is used anywhere in the application, its icon, its screenshots, or its store listing.
Timbre Dock is not a distribution of, a replacement for, or a modified version of any Artiphon software. Artiphon's own applications remain the official way to service the instrument.
What the app writes to your instrument
The song and sound files Timbre Dock writes to the Orba 2 are generated from your own recordings and edits. They are ordinary files in the instrument's file format and are created as new entries; the application never overwrites or alters factory content, never deletes anything without your explicit action, and never modifies the instrument's firmware.
This website
This site serves static pages over HTTPS. It sets no cookies and carries no advertising or social widgets. As with any web server, the hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for operating and securing the service.
Visitor statistics. To see how many people visit, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views without cookies, without local storage and without fingerprinting, and it builds no profile of you and follows you to no other site. It reports the page you opened, the referring site, and coarse browser, operating system and country information. Nothing that identifies you personally is collected, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of.
The server also keeps its own count, for a weekly summary by e-mail. It records the date, the page and the referring site — never your IP address or browser string. Those two are turned into a short identifier using a random value that is replaced every day, which makes it possible to tell one visit from several page views on the same day, and worthless afterwards. These logs are deleted after 90 days, and a browser sending a “Do Not Track” signal is not counted at all.
Third-party components
Timbre Dock includes no third-party software. Apple frameworks (CoreMIDI, CoreBluetooth, AVFoundation, SwiftUI, PhotosUI) are used under the Apple Developer Program License Agreement.
